In June 2023 we held a fundraising gig which featured two bands Metal Fatigue and The Jack, the drummer for the Jack had never been to Livewire before and was absolutely blown away by the project and everything it does and also the set up in the venue.
He felt that while there was nothing wrong with the sound system in the venue, it was dated and if the young people were to be able to get a real feel for working in the music world then the venue deserved to have a current industry stand set up.
The sound desk and lighting desk were both industry standard. He called a relative who regularly gives money to charity and told her all about Livewire, she donated £10,000 towards purchasing a Line Array sound system.
The gentleman working with trustees and Andy Rance approached Electro-Voice, who offered a heavily discounted system for the venue. We needed to find another £15,000. Which was kindly donated by Pete Townshend from The Who.
On 15th November The Electro-Voice XLE Line Array system powered by Dynacord L3600FD Amplifiers was installed by Arthur Achard and team. Not only have they supplied and installed the system and now tuned it to the room, they will be returning to the venue periodically to train the young people on how to rig the system and tune it ongoing.
It is believed that the Livewire Youth Venue now has one of the best (if not the best) sound systems in any venue of its size in the South West. Our young people are absolutely blessed by the support and generosity of the general public and the music industry.
Why not come along to one of our ALL AGE EVENTS in 2024 to hear it for yourself.
